What are Wood Grain Vinyl Films?
Wood Grain vinyl films are an adhesive backed single ply
printed vinyl film used for wrapping
relatively smooth-non-porous surfaces. This is a printed film
used in extreme vehicle wraps or where extreme flexibility is
needed. Although we specialize in
automotive applications, this film can be applied to just about
any suitable surface.
> 30" Maximum widths are available.
> 24" to 50yd roll sizes are available.
How do I install Wood Grain Vinyl Films?
The easiest way to answer this questions is for you to watch our
installation video at the bottom of this page. This is our
easiest carbon fiber film to install as it is both thin and
flexible.
> Installation difficulty depends on the
ability of the installer.
> If the application surface has complex curves, protrusions or is compounded.
> If the proper installation tools and fluids are used.
> If the installer is familiar with heat stretching film.
What Rwrap application
tools do you recommend?
All of them. Installation can be difficult and the tools we sell
help guarantee results.
> The application squeegee will reduce
air bubbles and aide in heat conforming the vinyl.
> Low friction sleeves prevent "squeegee scratches."
>
Rapid Prep removes any dirt or debris from your application surface.
> Rapid Tac
will aide in the wet application of our vinyl film.
> Rapid Clear will
act as a finishing agent and polish on all Rwraps.
> Seal-It Pens are used to seal the edges of all our vinyl films.
How much should I charge for installation?
The cost of installation should vary on the application surface.
The more complicated the application the more expensive the installation
fee should be. For example a hood wrap is significantly easier and
less time consuming than an interior wrap as shown in our Rwrap
installation example. The typical installation charge is between $25.00
to $50.00 usd per square foot.
Do you offer a warranty?
We offer a limited warranty of 3 years for drop shipped and vendor
orders. When professionally installed by our wholesale account holders we guarantee
that the film not fade, peel, crack, bubble or turn a different shade when
installed by a licensed professional.
What can Rwraps be applied to?
Just about any flat surface and any smooth contour or convex surface.
For example your car's dashboard, gauges, vehicle accessories such as
navigation systems, amplifiers, wheels, mirrors, door handles, glass,
cell phones, lap tops, plastic trim, metal parts and just about any
relatively hard non-porous surface.
Why don't you offer a wider kit?
We do not offer a wider kit than 24" for this film series. As it is a
two-ply thicker film it can be cumbersome to work with for some
applications. However, by reducing the area into two parallel sections,
application becomes easier. The vinyl seam will be almost invisible
when properly applied.
Do they have a glossy finish?
Yes, it has a sheen but not a high gloss finish.
Is the surface durable?
When applied correctly to the appropriate hard surface the vinyl
film is very durable, UV stable and scratch resistant.
Can it be applied to curved surfaces?
Vinyl Film can be applied to surfaces with moderate curvatures
such your vehicle's center console. They can be applied using
a heated application method. This is an advanced installation
procedure, but well worth the trouble and showcased in our
video.
Will it fade in the sun?
No, it is coated with a UV protective layer which will last up
to three years outdoors.
Can it be cleaned?
Yes, once applied and bonded to your surface you may clean it
and polish it with such things Armor All or any type of cleaning
agent that is Acetate free. We recommend the use of Rapid Clear
for maintaining your Rwrap.
Can it be clear coated?
Yes, we recommend the use of Clear Star Clear Jet or Clear
Shield products. We do not offer these lines currently as they
are hazardous to ship. |
